The production platform

We place production machines, in most cases 3D printers, at your premises at no cost. You pay a monthly fee and a fixed price per produced part. We supply the materials and support, and carry out the full service on the machinery. Everything is controlled through MD MESH.

3D printer

GO-ONE

A 3D printer for medical insoles that runs unattended, 24/7, including nights and weekends. A full pair prints in about 1.5 hours. All electrical design, wiring, firmware, software and mechanical components are Motion Dynamics; Felix Printers builds the housing and XY gantry.

The printer's main components are:

ToolheadControlled extrusion of hot filament, distance sensing to the print bed, vibration detection
Automation ModuleAutomatically ejects insoles into the CFM, controls the print area temperature
Collector and Filament Module (CFM)The drawer module: collects ejected insoles, cleans the Automation Module above it, feeds filament to the Toolhead and controls the incoming filament

All three modules are swappable, each with its own serial number. Maintenance intervals are tracked within MDMESH so precisely that modules are replaced before issues can occur.

Fleet management platform

MDMESH

One system for every printer you build, ship, run and service.

MD MESH is the fleet and operations platform for networked 3D printers. It follows each printer through its whole life, from the build floor to the customer site and back to the service bench, and keeps one record for every unit and every module along the way.

It works together with MDEDGE, the touchscreen operating system on each printer. EDGE runs the machine on the shop floor; MESH gives the people behind it (manufacturing, logistics, service, support, finance and the customer) a single view of the whole fleet.

The demo is a tour made from screenshots of the software, not the live software itself.

Follows the printer's lifecycle

Organised around the path a printer takes, not around departments. Every printer and every module has one home at any moment, and all counts, statuses and locations are worked out from the live fleet.

  1. ManufacturingBuild against a sales order. Serials and device keys generated at build time; Built → Flashed → Commissioned.
  2. InventoryReleased printers, modules, filament and supplies per site, with reorder alerts and combined shipments.
  3. FleetEvery printer at every customer site, live status on list, cards or map, and print job queues.
  4. ServiceEvery swappable module with its own life counter and A, B and C checks, workbench, on-site check-in and tickets.
  5. PlanningOne calendar for service appointments, deliveries and installations.
  6. FinanceSales orders, weekly billing exports and service contracts per customer.

Nine roles, from manufacturing to the customer, each seeing only what it needs. Runs in the browser on desktop, tablet and phone.

Printer operating system

MDEDGE

Operating software for the GO-ONE 3D printer.

MD EDGE runs on the printer's touchscreen and is the operator's single point of contact with the machine: it starts and stops production, keeps supplies topped up, guides every hands-on task and connects the printer to MDMESH. It is designed so that a production operator, not a 3D-printing specialist, can run the machine safely day to day.

The demo is a tour made from screenshots of the software, not the live software itself.

Built for the shop floor

  • Paired print queueLeft and right insoles are handled as one job.
  • Readiness checkStart is only accepted when supplies, collector, door, lid and drawer are in order.
  • Ready on arrivalAutomatic heat soak and calibration before working hours.
  • Guided tasksStep-by-step wizards with a 3D animation of the actual machine.
  • SafetyDoor interlock, build-area check, and faults that stop the machine until resolved.
  • Planned maintenanceSwappable modules tracked in MD MESH, which proposes the service dates.
Embedded Linux

MDOS

The operating system behind the GO-ONE.

MDOS is an embedded Linux distribution for connected, industrial-class 3D printers and similar machine controllers. One reproducible Yocto build boots a Raspberry Pi Compute Module from cold metal to a working operator kiosk: a hardened kernel, signed A/B updates, the Klipper firmware host, CAN-bus wiring to the motion controllers, and the MDEDGE touchscreen.

A thin product layer holds the specifics of each machine; the base system, updates and compliance tooling are shared. The GO-ONE runs MD OS in production today.

Built for regulation

Connected industrial equipment sold in the EU faces a growing set of cybersecurity and safety obligations. MDOS is designed so that the printer, not the customer, carries that burden.

  • Cyber Resilience ActSigned updates, SBOM, vulnerability handling and a five-year support baseline, ahead of the 11 December 2027 deadline.
  • GDPRNo personal data collected by default, and nothing leaves the machine without opt-in.
  • Machinery RegulationDoor interlock, heater shutdown and emergency stop at firmware and OS level, documented for conformity assessment.

Compliance documentation for your own technical file is available to customers on request.

Motion Dynamics B.V. was founded in 2023 in Alphen aan den Rijn by two aeronautical engineers with 15+ years each in machine building, embedded systems and industrial automation. Motion Dynamics B.V. is owned by its two founders through Innovative Engineering B.V. and Abawi Holding B.V. (50% each).

Wais Abawi

Wais Abawi

Lead Software Engineering

Wais Abawi is a software engineer with a background in aeronautical engineering and over 15 years of experience across aerospace, high-tech and industrial automation. He brings a rare combination of embedded systems expertise, agile leadership and a deep understanding of what it takes to ship reliable software in demanding environments.

Before Lely he wrote PLC machine control software and microcontroller firmware at ALE Delft, and worked for Alten on GS1 data pipelines and a monitoring dashboard for the Rotterdam metro. He started his career in aerospace, on stress analysis and qualification for the Airbus A380, the A400M and the NH90 helicopter, and later served as remote CTO for ACGAS in Malaysia.

At Motion Dynamics he leads software engineering, including MD EDGE on the printer and the MD MESH fleet platform.

  • Lead Engineer Embedded Software and Product Owner at Lely (2020–2025): grew the team from 7 to 11 and delivered the compute platform behind the Astronaut A5 Next
  • PLC-based machine control software at ALE Delft
  • Aerospace work on the Airbus A380 and NH90
